Peace Be With You

Feb 26, 2026 | From Pastor Gary

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

When we awake each morning, we start to think about all the things we have to do and places we have to go. We need to get cleaned up and get the rest of the household up as well. We start to get anxious which leads to frustration. And all we want is some peace. When we first awake in the morning, we should take a moment and pray to God and give Him thanks and ask Him to guide us through our day. But our human nature takes over and we bypass that.

We are all searching for some kind of peace, be it body, mind, or spirit. As humans we need to find and be in that peace. Sadly though, we often put aside those things that can give us that peace. Taking time for quiet meditation, going to worship and being fed by the Word of God and Body & Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and also serving God in our daily lives we can find that peace.

Just a couple of weeks ago I heard about this “Walk for Peace” that took place in this country. Sadly, this started on October 26, 2025, and this is the first I have heard about it. This is newsworthy, yet we haven’t heard much or anything about it. A group of Buddhist’s monks started walking in Fort Worth, Texas on this “Walk for Peace.” It is not a march or walk to protest what is going on, but a walk for peace for their inner well beings. To be in touch with God. They walked to Washington DC. Over 2,300 miles. It isn’t an easy task in good weather, but they also went through the eastern part of the United States with all the freezing rain and snow. One of the monks was hit by a car and ended up having his leg amputated. There wasn’t any retaliation on their part. The rest of the monks continued the walk. The people that have met them along the way with food, water, and support. The monks stopped to pray for people along the way. What a sight. These monks had dedication and devotion to do this.

We want that peace as well, but are we willing to dedicate and devote our lives to Jesus. Jesus was, and is dedicated and devoted to us. He was willing to die for our sins on the cross. The death of a criminal. God rose Jesus from the dead and we have that same promise. The real question is “Are we dedicated and devoted to Jesus?” We need to be to find that peace, the peace that surpasses all understanding. My prayer is that each of us takes the time to put Jesus first in our lives so we can find that true peace. Amen.

God’s Blessing,

Pastor Gary
